Aids Stiff Joints

YuMOVE's very own unique and sustainably sourced ActivEase® Green Lipped Mussel, straight from the crystal-clear waters of New Zealand, provides a range of Omega-3 Fatty Acids (including EPA, DHA and ETA) to aid stiff joints and help maintain the horse's mobility.

Supports Joint Structure

Glucosamine provides the major building blocks of cartilage – the tough connective tissue that protects the joints – to support and maintain joint structure.
MSM supports the structure of the connective tissue surrounding the joint and has been shown to support recovery after exercise.

Helps Support Mobility

Hyaluronic Acid supports the synovial fluid and helps to lubricate and cushion the joint. Antioxidants Vitamins C & E neutralise free radicals shown to be produced during exercise.

What age can YuMOVE Joint Care for Horses be used from?

YuMOVE Joint Care Horse products are designed to be used from weaning, this is usually between 4 and 7 months.

Is YuMOVE Joint Care for Horses FEI competition legal?

We would recommend for competing horses using our products, that customers check with the specific regulatory boards in the area they are competing or with their vet, as these regulations can vary. We can recommend the 2022 FEI (International Federation for Equestrian sports) Prohibited Substance Use List, as a useful reference: https://inside.fei.org/sites/default/files/2022%20Prohibited%20Substances%20List.pdf . Can YuMOVE Joint Care for Horses be used in horses with diabetes?

There are no known contraindication to using YuMOVE Joint Care products in diabetic horses. In horses a ‘type 2 diabetes’ could be considered equivalent to Equine Metabolic Disease (EMS). These patients may be managed on a specific (often calorie-controlled) diet, so we do recommend considering YuMOVE inline with this recommended diet. Usually YuMOVE can be fed as part of this under veterinary direction.

There is some discussion about whether the saccharide molecules, e.g., Glucosamine and Chondroitin, can affect glucose levels/insulin requirements but this has never been demonstrated. If a horse is on medication or has any illnesses we always recommend customers speak to their vet before starting a YuMOVE product, so horse by horse decisions can be made.

Can YuMOVE Joint Care for Horses be used alongside pain relieving medication?

There are no known contraindications to using YuMOVE alongside NSAID medication and we have had no reports of concern, however this is not something we have specifically investigated.

Are there any allergy concerns with YuMOVE Joint Care for Horses?

The YuMOVE Joint Care Range for horses contains shellfish and soy (although soy should be purified enough to not cause a reaction). If you have a horse with specific allergens please reach out to your Lintbells Veterinary Representative, or email vet@lintbells.com who will be able to advise further.

Can people with a shell fish allergy handle the product?

GLM is derived from a shell fish and we recommend that advice is sought from a medical professional.

These patients may be managed on a specific (often calorie-controlled) diet, so we do recommend considering YuMOVE inline with this recommended diet. Usually YuMOVE can be fed as part of this under veterinary direction.

Can YuMOVE products be used in conjunction with each other?

All of our products offer natural, nutritional support, therefore can usually be used alongside other products from the range. If you have any specific questions or concerns please reach out.

Do YuMOVE products have to be given with food?

No, the products can all be given with food, but are safe to administer on there own and often they will be taken as a treat. However, with our oil and powder based products we do recommend to mix with food, to make administration as easy as possible. We also recommend opening the cat capsules and sprinkling them, but these can also be fed within the capsules, depending on the cats preference.

Are there any products that shouldn’t be taken during pregnancy?

Apart from the YuMOVE Digestive Care range we do not recommend to use of YuMOVE products throughout pregnancy, as this is not something we have investigated. However, please contact us if you would like some more information.
